Itinerary

Depart for a local flight from Zanzibar International Airport to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at Seronera Airstrip, our guide will pick you up and continue with a game drive with a picnic lunch. Serengeti National Park is located in northern Tanzania and is a World Heritage Site occupying an area of around 15 000 square kilometers. The park is home to over 2 million herbivores, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and some 500 bird species. During the dry season, you will see massive herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra. Main Destination: Serengeti National Park Accommodation: Kontiki Serengeti Camp Mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinks not included

Today, you will have a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park as you continue to explore the park, trying to spot wildlife with the help of your guide. We will keep searching for Africa’s Big Five animals—lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos. The northern Serengeti supports abundant resident wildlife, including lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, and the rare oribi antelope. Main Destination: Serengeti National Park Accommodation: Kontiki Serengeti Camp Mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinks not included

After an early breakfast, we will drive up to the gates of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will descend into the crater, where you will be able to see a great number of animals living within the crater. You can expect to see lions, buffalos, zebras, hyenas, and antelopes; if it is our lucky day, we can see the rhinoceros. After the game drive, we will proceed to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest caldera which was formed after the explosion of a volcano some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater floor is 1800 meters (5900 feet) above sea level and hosts around 30 000 animals and a great variety of birds. Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge Mid-range lodge located 1-2hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinks not included

After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from Marera Valley Lodge and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing with a picnic lunch. After the game drive, we will return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay. Lake Manyara National Park covers an area of only 330 square kilometers (127 square miles), of which up to 200 square kilometers (77 square miles) is made up of the lake when water levels are high. Lake Manyara is an excellent place for bird watching and a good area to find elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos, and maybe even the legendary tree-climbing lion! At some point during your game drive, you should get out of the vehicle, and the hippo pool is a great site to stretch your legs and observe the hippos here. Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Lake Manyara NP Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinks not included

After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from Marera Valley Lodge and proceed to Tarangire National Park for game viewing, carrying a picnic lunch. After the game drive, we will transfer you to Arusha, where our safari ends. Tarangire National Park's name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, the only water source for the wild animals here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large numbers of elephants, baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. Main Destination: Tarangire National Park Accommodation: No accommodation (End of tour) Meals & Drinks: Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinks not included End of tour (See Getting There for more details) Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost. A transfer back to the airport can be arranged for an extra cost.
